   write cosx as cosx*cosx/cosx = (1 - sinx*sinx)/cosx
 
   so, tanx + (1 - sinx*sinx)/cosx(1+sinx) = sinx/cosx + (1 - sinx)/cosx = 1/cosx * ( sinx + 1 - sinx)
 
           = 1/cosx
 
                =  secx
