Response Details:
Cognitive psychology is the psychological field which examines internal mental processes, such as problem solving, language, and memory.  With this said, relationships are affected by thoughts portrayed through daily behaviors with the partner.  For example: the way a person talks to their partner, or remembering something they said (or the date of their birthday), speaking with them and the different ways people talk (verbal usage), the way we think about them everyday (sexually, romantically, etc.), the way partners think together to come up with a solution to a certain problem they are having.

I hope this guides you in the right direction to answering your question.
