mRNA

Question Details:
A certain gene in bacteria produces 2 mRNA transcripts of differing lengths. Which is the most likely explanation for the 2 RNAs?
A) Two initiator codons             B) RNA polymerase lacks the helicase activity
C) Bidirectional transcription      D) Presence of Poly-A tail 
                     E) Two different promoters

Response Details:

The reason is bidirectional transcription which results in both sense and antisense strand transcription producing two
 m-rna transcripts. Now the reason of them being unequal in length is difference in position of start and stop codon in sense and anti sense strand.
Thus the reason are C and E.
