Meso Compounds....

Question Details:
Hi,

I was wondering if somebody could explain how to answer this question:

"Does a meso compound contain chiral carbons?  Then why isn't it optically active?"

I would appreciate any help I can get!

Response Details:
A meso compound can have a chiral carbon.  A meso compound is achrial, which is not optically active.
