Response Details:
Because HCl is an acid, it is the same thing as H30+ (the hydronium ion).

To find the pH of the solution do -log(concentration)
                                                     -log(10M) = -1
                                                           pH = -1

Response Details:
since HCl is a strong acid it dissociates completely in solution
HCl---> H3O+ Cl-
so H3O+ has the same concentration as HCl because of this
pH=-log[H3O+]
=-log[10]=-1
