Response Details:
 To prepare the diluted solution we can use the following formula
   Molarity  = (weight of the IPTG/M.Wt of IPTG) * 1000/V(in mL)
       0.1M  = (weight of the IPTG/238.31g/mol) * (1000/10mL)
 Therefore weight of the IPTG       = 0.1mol/L * 238.31g/mol  * 10mL/1000
                                                     = 0.23831g can be diluted to prepare 10mL solution.

Response Details:
Molarity = [weight/ gram molar mass]x 1000/volume in ml
    weight = [molarity x volume in ml x gram molar mass]/1000
               = [0.1 x 10 x 238.31]/1000
               = 0.23831
Therefore 0.23831gms of IPTG must be dissolved in 10ml of water to get 0.1M solution
