 Thanks for the warm welcome.

                     This is my first question here, so give me a break !

         10 ml of HCL with a purity of 33%(w/w) and a specific gravity of 1.1 are diluted with distilled water tomake 1 Liter of solution. Calculate it's Molarity and it's Normality.

                               What does Specific Gravity have to do with this ?

                          What is Purity, and what does (w/w) stand for?

Response Details:
  Molarity = (% X sp.gravityX 10)/ gram molar mass
               = (33 X 1.1 X 10)36.5
               =9.945
for dilution  formula is V1M1 = V2M2
                                 10 X 9.945 = 1000 X M2
                                               M2  = 0.09945
Molarity and Normality is equal because the basicity of acid is one
  Therefore Molarity = Normality = 0.09945
