Looking at this diagram, where the dependent source is; is the voltage at Node 1 2ix or -2ix. I think it's -2ix because of the polarities, right?

It depends on your ground
if the ground is to the bottom of the depend source, then the voltage at node 1 is -2Ix.
Right, because of the polarity.
