height of object ho = 2.77cm
object distance u = 38.7mm = 3.87cm
focal length of lens f = 3.5cm
Using the lens formula 1 / f = 1 / u + 1 / v
                                      v = uf / ( u - f )
                                         = ...... cm to the right of the lens
 
\b) hi / ho = - v / u
     the height of the image hi = ho ( - v / u )
                                           = ....... inverted
