Average Acceleration...PLEASE HELP!

Question Details:
Question: A baseball pitcher throws a baseball with a speed of 41m/s. Estimate the average acceleration of the ball during the throwing motion. In throwing the baseball, the pitcher accelerates the ball through a displacement of about 3.5m, from behind the body to the point where it is released.

This a 1st year physics question....im stuck! Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

your equation is:

v2  =  2*a*d

rearranging to find acceleration:

a = V2 / 2d

plug in your values:

a = (41 m/s)2  /  (2* 3.5m)

a =  240.1 m/s2
