Basketball: fouls

Data for this problem are based on information from stats basketball scoreboard. It is thought that basketball teams that make too many fouls in a game tend to lose the game even if they otherwise play well. Let x be the number of fouls more them (i.e., over and above) the opposing team let Y be the percentage of times the team with the larger number of fouls wins the game.

X:   0      2      5      6

Y:   50  45    33    26

Complete parts (a) through (e) given ?× = 13, ?y = 154, ?×2 = 65, ?y2 = 6290, ?×y = 411, and r = -0.988.

 (f) if a team had x = 4 fouls over and above the opposing team what does the least-squares equation forecast for y?

"Thanks will you help with part b?"
Response Details:

Multiply the bottom equation by -5 and then add them together

411 = 13 b0 + 65 b1
-770= -20b0 - 65 b1

-329 = -7 b0

b0 = 47      b1 = -3.077

Regression equation is     y = -3.077x + 47

With 4 fouls, the forcast would be -3.077 (4) + 47  = 34.7

There is nothing to answer. It is a summation. You just need to add up the numbers which is already done.

In the future, can you please type in ALL the parts of each question rather than a) then b) the c).
It is very annoying to have to keep coming back to the same post over and over again. You will probably get a better response too rather than having to keep typing in separate questions.

You can only post one question per post, but that question can have multiple parts as long as they are ALL RELATED TO THE SAME WORD PROBLEM.
